Android Developer Preview 3 has been rolled out. Although not seen a lot of user interface changes, the latest beta version of Android O confirmed that it will use the number 8.0.0.
Seen from the photos in Social Media, with Android Developer Preview, the Android version jumps to 8.0.0. In the previous preview, the Android Version area is simply labeled as "O".
According from 9to5Mac, Friday (9/6/2017), the current stable version of Android, as found in the Google Pixel smartphone is Android 7.1.2. Because the following versions of the mobile operating system get an entirely new name, O, it's easy for Google to find the next number.
Although already known Android O number, Google has so far not announced the name for Android O itself. However, many parties speculate that 'O' will become Oreos.
